A fantastic experience, our teacher Sudipta taught us the basic foundations of watercolour and then led us on to create a landscape painting. Each one of our 5 paintings were very different but really well finished. We all enjoyed the experience

I?m not so good at pure watercolour so I started adding ink and became a ?line and wash? painter. I like to paint ?plein air? in the summer and work from photos in winter. I?m English, I?ve been in Ireland three and a half years, and have started painting scenes near my home in Malahide. Last year I was seriously ill, but now I?m recovering and looking forward to getting out with my paints again. I love painting quirky buildings - there?s nothing as nice as a good gable end.

Title or Location: Walkway along river Suir, Clonmel
The Suir Blueway runs for 53km in an east-west direction from Carrick-on-Suir to Cahir via Clonmel. The route is made up of a walking/ cycling trail for 21km which runs from Carrick-on-Suir to Clonmel and a further 32km of waterway along the River Suir which can be canoed or kayaked. It is the river-based element of the route that makes it a Blueway rather than a Greenway! I, Rutuja Kulkarni stay in Clonmel and from many years, every day walking along river Suir few kilometers is my refreshin

I find painting dogs very interesting because their appearance is so varied. This golden doodle is from a friend's photo of her pet Gracie. I painted a loose background in watercolours then painted negatively to pick out the wavey and curly areas of her coat. Gouache picked out some lighter areas. I find painting without a drawing creates a looser result. I start with the nose and measure from there.

I saw a photo of a beautiful cat on Facebook and asked the owner if I could paint it - Matt Raatz agreed and I created this line and wash using ink and Roman Szmal watercolours and Posca pen for fine details. When I showed the painting to Matt he asked to purchase the original and it has since been shipped to Wisconsin.

Two days before hurricane Beryl made landfall on the Texas coast, the first outer band hit Houston with thunder, lightning and pouring rain. The sky darkened too and turning to my brushes helped me deal with the anxiety. It was also good practice for working with masking fluid.

Once COVID hit, and we knew we weren't going anywhere, my family & I decided to get chickens. We picked out these 3 chicks from a local farm. We created a brooder in our living room, and my kids enjoyed creating a parkour/maze for them to run around in. During a moment of rest, I captured a photo of them & knew that I wanted to paint it one day. Additional info - watercolor on Arches, size 8x8
